On a recent trip to Far North Queensland, I went in search of an early morning takeaway coffee in Cairns. Checking out local reviews, I headed to the cleverly-named Caffiend in the city centre.
Caffiend is more of a cafe than just a coffee shop, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and it was busy with the breakfast crowd.
I wasn’t offered a choice of beans here so I assume I got the house blend. I was very surprised by the price, making this the most expensive coffee I’ve ever had in Australia – at a hefty $9.50!
My large oat latte didn’t take too long and it was a good drop – well-rounded, smooth and chocolatey. It was served at a good temperature for takeaway too.
I enjoyed my Caffiend coffee, but didn’t go back during my brief stay in Cairns.
