Like many others on road trips along the A1, I stopped at Cann River for fuel and then happened across Snaffle.
The signs were promising as I entered this locals’ favourite, with Code Black beans on display. As I ordered my oat latte, I couldn’t resist adding on the vegan brekkie jaffle. This was an unexpected find on the menu of a small country town café!
My coffee arrived quickly and the unusual combination of Code Black beans and No Ordinary Oat Milk worked a treat. It was a chocolately and smooth brew, served at the perfect temperature. My vegan jaffle followed soon after and was very tasty.
The range of vegan goodies here was a real surprise, until a chat with the owner revealed that his partner is mainly vegan. To support their vegan-friendliness some more, a takeaway stash was in order. I left with a sausage roll, rice paper rolls and roast cauliflower salad. All of these vegan items were also homemade and excellent.
It’s great to find a top notch coffee in a small country town and Snaffle certainly fits the bill in Cann River. The bonus of copious vegan options makes it a worthy destination in itself for travelling coffee-loving vegans!
